The All Star Family pulled together once again at the beginning of March to raise a staggering £14,176 for the Playroom Fund at Ward L38, Leeds Children’s Hospital.
When Look North covered the story at the beginning of March, the team were inundated with shares and messages from the All Star Family, as well as their own friends and family, asking whether All Star Prizes could rise to the occasion and do what we do best; support our local community with the help of you guys who play week in-week out.
At the time we were approached, the big draw running at the time was for the stunning 2024 Motorhome or £45,000 in cash, and with all eyes on that particular competition, we decided to roll the dice and do something HUGE…donate 20% of all ticket sales on the Motorhome Draw to the Ward L38 Playroom Fund.
Unsurprisingly, the All Star Family rallied to support this very worthy cause, and managed to get the fundraiser to its target of £16,000, with a little help from a very impatient Matt, who added the final £2,000 to get the amount over that £16,000.
Matt quickly jumped on Facebook Live to share with all the supporters and All Star Family the great work that we had all achieved together, and to make the donation live for everyone to see.
At a meeting with the Leeds Hospitals Charity, Head of Relationship Funding, Paula Guanaria, told Matt and Matt 2.0 that they were still in shock at just how quickly we managed to accomplish this amazing feat, and that the amount we had contributed was going to make a difference to children’s lives for years to come.
The team have been invited to the official unveiling of the playroom, which is hoped will be later this year.
