In December 2022 we worked with Rhada to donate a number of iPad’s to the children’s Oncology Ward 31 at Leeds General Infirmary in memory of Paul her husband and Noah, her son.
This is the photo that was sent to us by the team at Ward 31 of the beautiful Emilia.
Here is Rhada, Paul and Noah’s story:
Rhada and Paul, pictured with their son Noah, were married at Holdsworth House on the 5th June 2019. It was a beautiful day filled with love and happiness. But it had come after a period of real adversity for the family.
In 2017, Noah was diagnosed with a grade three anaplastic ependymoma – a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Noah had bravely endured a 22-hour operation and 14 months of chemotherapy but, sadly, just nine months after the wedding and aged three and a half years, he lost his battle.
Agonisingly, whilst seeking treatment for Noah in the USA, Paul was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer. In May 2021 Paul died, aged 31 years. Both funerals took place at Holdsworth House.
This Christmas, Rhada has launched a Just Giving campaign to raise money for the staff and patients at Leeds General Infirmary. It was here that Rhada found much love and support during the treatment of both Noah and Paul. Rhada shared her story with us and has given us her permission to share it with our followers in the hope that together, we can do something positive.
